The Rijksmuseum has had diversity & inclusion as one of their strategic pillars since nearly a decade. For the next 4 years, they put their ambitions on paper and commissioned me to make a poster visualising the key points. This poster will be used by representatives of the museum to present to colleauges and partners why being an inclusive organisation matters, and what this will look like towards 2028.
We started with a brainstorm session to talk through the strategic document's contents, and determine which parts should be visualized more or less prominently. We ended with a short discussion of visual structure options. The layout that would become the final structure already made its appearance (outlined below in blue).
After this I compiled the brainstorm into a first sketch, and annotated it to indicate everything displayed. We had a double feedback session, one with the client, and another with a panel of ambassadors. All of their points were incorporated into the final version.
After completion, the Rijksmuseum launched a special page on their website to share these ambitions and the poster with the world. I felt humbled to see my work up there, in the company of many master pieces.
This project was both a privilege and a lot of fun to work on. Many thanks to Shivan Shazad for the authentic drive to make something exciting together, and the resulting smooth collaboration.
