During 2014-2015, Dutch hip hop group Rasa created an album in which they wrote, recorded, and filmed the videos for twelve new songs in twelve months. The final work was aptly titled "12" and I had the privilege of creating their album cover.
The cover presents time as a faceless, merciless figure who may either be hiring or firing the viewer. It is a metaphor for the feeling that opportunities come and go and time is indifferent whether you seize them or not. The group's hate-love relationship with their ambitions is a major theme throughout the album. The tight production timeline is another demonstration of the way discipline and passion intertwine.
