The strict, angular style from my earlier style development began to feel restrictive. I started looking for ways to speed up the process, but at the same time I was increasingly drawn to the use of natural texture in digital art. Between 2016-2017 I got a job as a design thinking consultant and got a lot faster at quickly sketching out ideas.
The time I saved getting faster at concepts, I spent exploring gouache, Chinese ink, coarse brushes and fountain pens, and finding a way of integrating these traditional elements into my digital work.
I continue to work on mixing clean, digital minimalism with traditional lines and textures.
